Ranbir praises SRK on
Shiv Sena
The Bollywood actor, Ranbir
Kapoor appreciated the superstar, Shah Rukh Khan by praising him for standing
up against Shiv Sena at the time of releasing ‘My Name Is Khan.”
Shiv Sena had asked that
King Khan apologize for his comments favoring insertion of Pakistani players
in the IPL and threatened to stop ‘MNIK’s release.
Ranbir said,” I think
Shah Rukh was absolutely correct; he did not bow down to anyone. He was
not wrong in his belief and did not felt sorry to anyone. I would like
to believe that I would have stood up against the Thackerays if something
like that would have happened to me”.
Ranbir had also faced
such situation with MNS and Raj Thackeray at the time of release of his
movie ‘Wake Up Sid’ for using the word ‘Bombay’ instead of ‘Mumbai’ in
the film. Demanding a halt to all these political hurdles, he said,” We
used the word ‘Bombay’ in the film and the MNS party opposed that. But
the film is fiction and this is a part of somebody’s vision. I so many
times say Bombay and not Mumbai and because I’ve grown up with the word.”
He also added,” Yes, it is hounding; it is something which needs to be
seized. I don’t know how to stop it as there is a lot of power which is
involved and I am too small to stand up against such power.”
