“For any filmmaker the true challenge lies in making a hit film with newcomers who are still students of the art. I would love working with a star because I know it will mean a successful film but when I work with young actors who are new it means I can groom them and help build their careers. And that is the true challenge for any director,” says the director.

Although Ghai is tightlipped about the Padukone-Kapoor project sources tells us that the film will be a love story with all the ingredients synonymous with his film.

“Ever since Subhashji saw both Ranbir and Deepika he wanted to sign them on. He feels that Ranbir has a lot of potential. He came up with a script that is a real love story and he approached both of them. The film will also star Vinod Khanna and it shows both of them in a very different light from OSO and Saawariya,” says the source, “The film will go on floors only towards the end of the year once Deepika and Ranbir have finished with their current commitments.”

Ghai is currently backing another newcomer these days Anurag Sinha who makes his debut in Mukta Arts’ Black & White with Anil Kapoor. “Anurag has all the making of a star. He is already an actor but when you see the film you will see the star in him. When I took him on I had a lot of responsibility to groom him correctly and I am proud to say that he has done very well for himself. He has a very bright future ahead,” says the man.
