Ranbir Kapoor - News, Latest NEWS
|
A hand-written letter and a beautiful bunch of flowers from Amitabh Bachchan will remain the highest compliment received by "Saawariya" stars Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor. The Big B gets distinctly poetic while describing Ranbir and Sonam. "Have you heard Beethoven's symphony? There's a loud orchestra followed by a thin flute sound...This was the genius composer's interpretation of desire and destiny...The destiny loud and ominous, the desire soft and gentle. It's like the two protagonists in 'Saawariya'," says Amitabh. "Ranbir is the storm. Sonam is the soft breeze. Ranbir's presence is a storm, and Sonam is the graceful, calm, gentle breeze that flowed around him. The narrative is almost like a Beethoven symphony, where the thunderous sound of the orchestra is always followed by the soft thin flute - a symbolic interpretation of gentle desire and overpowering destiny." .........Saawariya Review.......... Ranbir Kapoor: Diwali is a huge event in our home. It's even bigger this time because my debut film is being released. There'll be the usual family puja. Diwali day would be the release of my film, so we'll be praying harder than before. And of course loads of sweets. My grandmother cooks the most delicious Diwali delicacies in the world. I'm ready to brave the calories as long as my film opens to full galleries. Since my sister is down in Mumbai for my premiere, Diwali this year would be the way I like it - a family affair. Ranbir Kapoor's Towel-drop Scene............ Shammi Kapoor The man with a lion spirit, Shammi Kapoor, the legendary style icon whose almost infectious energy brought alive all the characters he played - the lover boy of the golden era, whose dance moves have made many a women of his times feel the flutter in their hearts. we caught up with the legend himself and tried to figure out how does Shammi Kapoor spend his days. The answer that came from him was rather heart wrenching, as he quoted, "I spend three days in the hospital. I am a renal patient. Three days, I get dialyzed at the Kidney Centre. But I have four holidays also. I can't walk too much, my mobility has gone. I like to go out for a drive. I drive myself and look at pretty girls. At my age, I'm allowed. I have a license to kill." Thus life moves on, and this man's spirit leaves one in complete awe of what he is still capable of doing. Generations have moved ahead and the Kapoors continue to deliver one powerhouse performer after the other. Quite obviously now, it leaves Ranbir Kapoor with very high expectations, that he needs to meet with his debut film set to release. TIMES NOW asks Shammi Kapoor on his opinion about Ranbir Kapoor joinging the league. Shammi Kapoor answers, "I wish him all the best. It's going to be a very tough job since his father happened to be a great actor, his mother was also very popular. His grandfather was a legend, so it's going to be very tough for him. But I'm sure, he'll overcome all the constraints." For all those actors, who are still trying to grab their share of the limelight, here's a word of advice from the man himself. As Shammi Kapoor avers, "Today, I feel it's very necessary to create your own identity. As you're in a very competitive field and to be recognised by your audience, you have to create your own niche." So with those pearls of wisdom, here's hoping that viewers would again someday get to see actors like him, who still continue to live on as perfect examples of a living legend.
Not just this, Neetu makes sure Ranbir gets a fixed pocket money and does not become an extravagant. According to reports, Ranbir gets Rs. 1,500 from his mom every week. That amounts to just a little over Rs 200 per day. But Ranbir seems to have no complaints because he doesn’t have much lavish tastes. Neetu has told a Mumbai tabloid that she wants Ranbir to earn his own money and then spend it. She believes too much money spoils the youth. Ranbir, on his part, has
deep love and admiration for his mama’s decisions. He apparently takes
it as an education.
